Contribution Limits

• The maximum contribution from an individual to a candidate for State Assembly is $5,500 per election (primary and general are separate elections).
• Contributions from corporations and labor unions are permitted under California law, subject to the same limits.
• Cash contributions of $100 or more are prohibited.
• Contributions are not tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes.

Donor Information Requirements

Under California law, the following information is required for contributions over $100:

• Contributor's full legal name
• Contributor's street address (P.O. boxes are not sufficient)
• Contributor's occupation
• Contributor's employer (or "self-employed" / "retired" if applicable)

Contributions of $100 or more are reported to the FPPC and become part of the public record.

Foreign National Prohibition

Federal law prohibits contributions, donations, expenditures, and disbursements solicited, directed, received, or made directly or indirectly by or from foreign nationals in connection with any federal, state, or local election.

By making a contribution, you certify that the following statements are true and accurate:

• I am a United States citizen or lawfully admitted permanent resident.
• This contribution is made from my own funds, and funds are not being provided to me by another person or entity for the purpose of making this contribution.
• I am making this contribution with my own personal credit card and not with a corporate or business credit card or a card issued to another person.
• I am at least 18 years old.
